The 7 Sacred Rules at AllStar

At CrossFit AllStar we commit to live the following:

  1. I promise to do my best. My best will vary from day to day, minute to minute. But in that minute I will do my absolute best.
  2. If I can run, I run. If I have to walk, I walk. When I am forced to crawl, I crawl. Then I rest and live to fight another day.
  3. I may struggle, curse and cry but I will never quit.
  4. I will never criticize or beat myself up for what I can't do today. I will just try again tomorrow.
  5. I promise to believe in myself, beginning each workout with the thought that "I can do this!"
  6. I show up to my workouts because I am committed to my health. My commitment to health is an act of self-love.
  7. I acknowledge that my diet is the most important part of my program. The cleaner it is, the better I do.

6/14/12 CrossFit Post-WOD Bliss & Skin the Cat

-Written by KC

Come Get Some!

Right- Josh enjoys some post-wod bliss and cools down on the 'front porch' in front of AllStar. You know it's good when you must take the horizontal position after a workout, although some say that's what defeated animals do.

Below: Josh hold the bottom of a Skin the Cat and the bottom of a Squat. Both movements were in our Skill/Flexibility portion of the warm up today.

The Skin the Cat involves a specific order of operations and body positions that must be hit in order to take the final form of this pose on the rings. A nice ball up and tuck inversion on the rings is first, followed by the shins coming parallel with the floor while still tucked. Then if holding that position is not a problem for you, opening up the pose is next with extension of the legs, and the final detail would be to take the gaze forward and look at the horizon. Skin the Cat is one of my favorite shoulder stretches, but you must feel confident and have the prerequisite body positions before taking the final pose. Good job Josh!
