"Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic, and faithful and you will accomplish your goal. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." -Esther & Jerry Hicks
New Friends
Marylin, a new AllStar athlete, won't tell me her age. But what I do know about her is that she walked into AllStar and without hesitation, performed a rope ascent, WITH a Spanish Wrap! Her enthusiasm, attitude, willingness to learn about CrossFit, and determination is commendable.
Turkish Get Up
We focused on the TGU, or Turkish Get Up as our skill today. This movement sometimes feels very funny and awkward, but as with any of the CrossFit movements the more practice you perform, the more comfortable you become. I thank Bill Case of Five Mountain Fitness for teaching me this complicated movement. He taught it to me so well, that I can break down the movement and clearly teach it to others. Thanks Bill! Below, you can see the steps in the TGU performed by Marta, who had just learned it that day.
