Bench Press

We performed the Wendler 5/3/1 series of week 1 Back Squats today, along with "Lynne" a couplet WOD consisting of Bodyweight Bench Press for max reps and Pull Ups for max reps. It was kind of nice to work entirely on strength today, a much needed variation to our workouts.

Right: Brad performs an amazing 26 reps. at bodyweight load right off the bat.

Below: Sandra works on her presses from the floor and looks strong! Notice in the pictures below our children playing just outside the gym, this is one of the most special parts of our box. Our kids growing up in this lifestyle makes for a healthy childhood and active lifestyle. They keep the love in our box!

Workout of the Day

Warm Up:

Run 800m.

Strength:

Wendler Week 1 Back Squats

5 X 40% of Wendler Max

5 X 50%

5 X 60%

3 X 65%

5 X 75%

5+ X 85% for max reps

Then:

WOD:

"Lynne"

Five rounds for max reps of:

Body weight bench press

Pull-ups

Move from Bench press to Pull Ups with no rest(I am making this rule for today). You may rest between rounds. Strict Pull Ups only(I am also making this rule), we get enough practice kipping! DO STRICT!
