9/18/12 Wonder Twin Friends & 'Holleyman'

Wonder Twin
The girl to my left in this pic, I can honestly say is my Wonder Twin. Kashayla Stanford and I met at a KSAC competition over the summer in Honolulu and we just hit it off. Guess cause we're both 5 foot tall, can compete with each other, and look A LOT alike, accept that she's black and I'm white. True Wonder Twin style! She is a Lieutenant in the Army and stationed this week at Pohakuloa Training Camp. LUCKY ME, I get to train with her! It's nice having someone to wod with that can push me further than I would at any other time. This girl makes me WORK! To my right is one of her soldiers, Jean Jones. Who came in for his first CrossFit workout!
Advanced Workout Times
I'll be setting aside Tuesday & Thursday at 8:15am- 10:15am as a time where I train, with other advanced athletes on an invite only basis. It's not a class, but a time for advanced athletes to wod together and train with me. We help each other in this way, to get better. If you are competative, having people to train with that are on your level is essential. I had been driving to Kona once and twice a week to train, but now I have decided to stay 'home' so to speak, and focus my training to meet my needs here at AllStar. Here's our whiteboard to the right which i'll share on occasion, courtesy Outlaw Way. Today Shay and Jean Jones were here to get in on the action.
Classtime WODS
Workout of the Day for regular classes was 'Holleyman', and intense 30 Round whopper with very little consecituve reps, but mega rounds!

Lurong Living Paleo Challenge WODS
Below: Josh (Right) and Danny (Left) perform 'Randy', 75 Snatches for time at 75#. This workout needed to be completed as part of our Lurong Living Paleo Challenge that some of our athletes are competing in online. Impressive finishes.. Josh, 4:16 and Danny, 5:22
The wods will be performed again after the 9 weeks of the Paleo eating challenge! We'll see what the results show!
