UPDATED ATTENDANCE POLICY DURING COVID AS OF 3/6/21 AND CF OPEN UPDATES
MAKING A RESERVATION:
- Only reserve a spot if you have 95% intention on attending the class.
- Do not reserve a spot ‘to save a space if you feel like attending later’.
- If you sign up that means you show up, unless of that 5% chance of emergency and you can’t come.
RESERVE EARLY:
- You can reserve a class up to 24 hours in advance.
- If you wait until the last minute, you may find the class is ‘FULL’. If this happens you have the option to ‘WAITLIST’.
- Sign up EARLY in order to secure your spot!
NEW WAITLIST PROTOCOL:
- ‘Waitlisted’ people will now be allowed in to class, but we may ask you to train outside. We also have 2 extra spots under the pull up bars that we may put you in (if we aren’t using the pull up bars that day).
- If you ‘waitlist’ be advised if someone cancels a regular reservation your name will automatically be pushed into regular class and you’ll be guaranteed a spot inside.
- If you waitlist it is your responsibility to SHOW UP or cancel your name off the list by removing your reservation. IF YOU WAITLIST AND YOU DON’T SHOW UP IT’LL BE CONSIDERED A ‘NO SHOW’ with a 50 burpee penalty if you don’t remove your reservation from the list.
REMOVING YOUR RESERVATION; CANCELLING:
- Cancellations shall be made at the earliest possible point in time, and on the most limited basis, for the 5% chance you have an emergency or other issue preventing you from attending. If you sign up, you show up.
- When you sign up be serious about it. Make sure your intentions match your actions. For emergencies only, remove your reservation at least an hour ahead of class start time…the earlier you can remove your reservation the better because it allows someone else a chance to get that spot!
NO MORE LAST MINUTE 5AM CANCELLATIONS
- Due to the special nature of the early morning start of the 5am class, no cancellations shall be allowed within an hour of class start time (4am).
- When singing up the night before, you commit to showing up the next morning at 5am. For whatever reason, if you cancel last minute, you are throwing away a spot that someone else could have signed up for the night before. Canceling affects everyone, not just you.
- The Zen Planner settings will be changed (just for the 5am class) to allow no cancellations for 5am class within an hour of class start time. It’s not fair to sign up and then cancel last minute when people need to know the night before to plan their sleep and wake up times. If you’re ‘on the fence’ about coming, do not sign up until the morning time when you are certain you can attend.
- IF YOU SIGN UP AND TRY TO CANCEL WITHIN AN HOUR OF START TIME YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO….you will be need to do the 50 burpee penalty next time you come in….this is not a punishment, it’s a motivational consequence intended to help you learn to do things differently next time/
WORKOUT AREAS:
- There are now 14 inside workout spots, and 2 waitlist spots which will be under the pull up bars or outside spots.
- This number will increase over time, as COVID restrictions relax, and as CDC guidance advises. When vaccines are distributed, and COVID numbers subside, I do see us able to have more crowds in the gym but until then, we must stay diligent about our safety protocols.
- If anyone feels to crowded in the gym or uncomfortable at any time, you can workout outside in the back (stay to the sides of the roadway to allow for a car if needed to pass)
- Still uncomfortable? If your schedule allows, consider attending a less populated class such as the 9:30am class.
TOURISTS:
- Tourists no longer allowed in 8:15am class, we are reserving those spots for our existing community members.
- All tourists are still required to send us their negative COVID test results, some send vaccine cards as well.
- We are making every effort to continue running the gym in a way that is accessible to tourists, without jeopardizing our local community that matter the most to us.
Mahalo to you all for understanding these new changes as we move forward through our COVID recovery phase at the gym. It is because of your tremendous trust and support that we are able to continue to survive and thrive moving forward! We are excited for the day when we can loosen these restrictions like the ‘pre-covid’ days, but for now we mahalo you for fighting this pandemic with the spirit and endurance of a CrossFit AllStar athlete, TOGETHER STRONG!

TAKE THE CROSSFIT OPEN JUDGES COURSE found at https://games.crossfit.com/article/2021-crossfit-judges-course-live/open
If you signed up for the Open, it's good courtesy to also be a judge, we will need plenty of judges to validate workouts. Get this done by Friday March 11 please or as soon as possible. If we don't have enough judges, KC will validate scores based on observation of multiple athletes at the same time which is OK, but not the best. If anything, we need to MAKE SURE ANY ATHLETES WHO PLAN TO ADVANCE PASSED THE OPEN into qualifiers has a certified judge. Mahalo!
