Hero Workout
Today's wod at CrossFit AllStar in Waimea Kamuela, Big Island of Hawaii, was a hero workout, named after a fallen soldier as a memorial and tribute. See more about U.S. Marine Corps First Lieutenant James R. Zimmerman at the bottom of this post.
Right: After a spirited game of CrossFit Dodgeball, we began with ring inversions, working on them as a skill for quality.
Below: the 5am gang working on Handstands for quality during the skill lessons. Then the gang takes on "Zimmerman".

U.S. Marine Corps First Lieutenant James R. Zimmerman, 25, of Aroostook, Maine, assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, died on November 2, 2010, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife Lynel Winters, parents Tom and Jane, sister Megan, and brother Christian.
